His expertise covers all areas of franchise law, business acquisitions/sales & structuring (including preparing partnership-type arrangements), estate planning, business succession, and estate administration, and property-related matters (including the acquisition of large-scale properties, the strata titling of properties, and the preparation of “off the plan” and established strata lot sales contracts).
Joe’s property experience covers all aspects of property law, from acquisitions and sales, property development and preparation of co-ownership and joint venture arrangements.
Joe has extensive experience in the franchise industry, and since 2003 has had a practice comprising the preparation of franchise documentation, the provision of advice to existing and potential franchisors (including multiple well-known national brands), litigation and mediation support for franchising disputes and trade practices advice. Joe was a committee member of the Western Australian Chapter of the Franchising Council of Australia, until stepping down in August 2018, after approximately 12 years.
Joe has been a regular presenter at Franchise Council of Australia conferences and has presented on numerous occasions at accounting conferences for local and national accounting firms, as well as CPD programmes for the legal industry.
He assists in the establishment and ongoing management issues facing business, from legal compliance through to supply-chain issues and succession planning, with his team preparing wills and other estate related documentation, from simple wills to complex testamentary and protective trust arrangements, often working closely with his clients, financial planners and accountants.
