Hendrik has in excess of 15 years’ experience as a commercial litigation and dispute resolution lawyer, having advised on and led significant and complex commercial litigation matters during that period. He applies a practical, pragmatic and realistic approach focused on seeking a commercially beneficial outcome for each and every client.

Hendrik’s experience in property and planning includes’ advising on lease disputes, adverse possession claims, easements, restrictive covenants, caveats, dividing fences and encroachment disputes and various statutory instruments and controls affecting land use.

Hendrik regularly represents land owners and property developers in relation to administrative review proceedings in the State Administrative Tribunal, advising on acquisitions, subdivisions and planning approvals and development of land.

He is also experienced in advising on compulsory land acquisitions and compensation, undertaking due diligence investigations in relation to acquisitions of land and potential subdivision and development, and advising on strata title matters.

Hendrik’s building & construction and contract law experience includes advising, drafting and negotiating a wide range of transactional documents, including sale of business and sale of shares agreements, shareholders agreements, joint venture agreements, partnership agreements & construction agreements, whilst drawing on his broad commercial litigation experience to identify and advise on potential future litigation risks.
